Some children experience anxiety, sensory challenges, medical conditions, or developmental differences that can make dental visits difficult. For many families, finding a dental team that truly understands these needs can feel overwhelming.
Our team is experienced in providing dental care for children who need additional support. We focus on creating a calm, predictable environment and offer advanced comfort options to help children safely receive the treatment they need.
We offer multiple levels of comfort support based on each child’s individual needs.
Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide)
A mild sedation option that helps children relax while remaining awake and responsive. It works quickly and wears off quickly, allowing most children to return to normal activities shortly after their visit.
In-Office General Anesthesia
For children who require extensive treatment or cannot safely tolerate treatment while awake, general anesthesia may be recommended. Treatment is completed in our office setting during scheduled anesthesia sessions.
When general anesthesia is needed, treatment is performed in coordination with an experienced anesthesia team led by Stefan Lucas, MD, allowing medical anesthesia care and dental treatment to be provided together in a controlled clinical environment.
Our commitment goes beyond the clinic. One of our providers, Dr. Abra Caroci, serves on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics New York, supporting access to healthcare for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Dr. Caroci has extensive training in hospital dentistry, sedation, general anesthesia dentistry, and care for children with special healthcare needs, including advanced interdisciplinary training through the LEND program.
General anesthesia procedures are performed in a private area of our office that includes a parent waiting space, treatment room, and monitored recovery area, helping families stay in a familiar and comfortable environment.
If you think your child may have a tongue tie or lip tie, early evaluation can make a meaningful difference in feeding, comfort, and development.
